Dual EV Charger Installation Hertfordshire

We recently a Dual EV Charger Installation in Hertfordshire for a customer which was quite different from our usual ones. The customer told us that he has multiple electric vehicles that come and go from his home quite often. The problem was the customer had single phase power to his home so he couldn’t have two full size chargers built in.

We therefore decided to install the ZURA Dual Charger from Rolec. This charger has two outlet ports in which you can plug in your car charging leads and will charger both cars at the same time with output of 7.4kW. We installed this on the side of the customers garage which allowed him to reach both cars easily. The distribution unit in the garage was fitted with surge protection to protect the other circuits and we also installed a CT-clamp which monitors the load in the property and allows the EV charger to only use the amount of power the property can handle. Controls For Dual EV Charger

When we first set up the dual charger, we connected it via the MONTA app, which allows the customer to see how fast his vehicles are charging, how much power he is using and also how long it will take for his vehicles to charge. He can also use it to start and stop charging as he likes. However, after discussing it with the customer, we re-configured the charger to be plug and play. This means that as soon as the customers plugs in his cars, they will automatically start charging. This was more beneficial to the customer due to the number of different cars that were being charged throughout the day. Also with a few of the cars, he could control the bit that he needed to via his personal Tesla app.
